So I forgot to add this, I joined a group called "blog to lose" and I am still figuring this thing out, but one of the girls in it posted a question, list the top 5 things that you are proud of in your past year of weight loss, for me this was a good exercise considering I had been doing so well up until the wedding, (two months ago on the 28th!!!) and I told myself I would slack off for the honeymoon and then get right back on the waggon, well its been a bumpy two months... I have had more bad days than good and I am up more than I would like to admit since the wedding, so back to my point, this was a good exercise for me to do to look at the positive changes I have made over the past year, since I did start this last summer, it has been a year, crazy!
My top 5 things that I am proud of and have accomplished in the past year on my journey:
1. I ENJOY working out.. and I miss it when I miss a workout!
2. I ENJOY healthy foods! Fruits are sweet enough I dont need candy!
3. I can wear a size 8 dress and 10 pant - was a 14 a year ago
4. I am happier
5. I get less tension headaches and migraines :)
I need to remind myself of these things when I am getting down on how poorly I have been doing lately, and actually this week I have been doing really well... so heres to being back on track for good!

I did another C25K week 4 session yesterday and I dont know if its because I have only been running about once a week, but I was DYING... litterally... I had to stop and walk for 20 seconds when I only had a minute 20 left to run.... sad... I did make myself run the last minute, and it wasnt my legs, they could have finished fine, it was my breathing and my heart rate. I usually hit high 170's when running, but I get back down while in the walking intervals, well before the last 5 min run session, I didnt get below 170, and I think that is what was killing me more than anything... stupid stress induced asthma and crap! SO I am going to start running 3-4 times a week, that should help... and I wont go on to week 5 til I can get through week 4 without stopping to walk, I did that one day last week, but I want to do it 3 times without stopping!
In other non workout related news, I got my letter of approval from the Texas Board of Engineers this morning, looks like I will be taking the PE in October! Its the day before my hubby's birthday, so I have some time... and I signed up for a prep class, but get this... there is 25 HOURS of calculations to do PRIOR to the prep class... then its a week long of full day classes and homework and then studying after til the test. The class is August 20-24 and the test is October 26, so in that time frame I will be in serious nerd study mode- and in between now and then I have to buy over $500 in books for prep work and start gettin back into school mode doing problems. I went to start on some of the drilling problems this weekend, but I havent done any drilling since school... this isnt going to be fun! It will be nice to have the option to consult once we start having little ones though, just in case I can part with them to come back to the office!
Speaking of... back to work!

Friday Jake picked me up from work and we grabbed a couple of drinks at Christian's Tailgate, killing time til Suzy's birthday dinner at the Aquarium. It was fun and there were alot of people, about 25, in our party, so it took forever to get the food, but we had a good time.
Saturday Jake and I did some home improvement, we changed the light fixtures and framed in the mirrors in the master bath and guest bath, and started to replace the fixture in the half bath, but there were a lot of holes behind the existing fixure that had to be patched, so hopefully we will finish that one this week, and we also replaced the light fixture in the kitchen.
Some pictures of the work:
Jake got to use his new miter saw:
Mr. Hank helped:
Master bath before and after:
Guest bath before and after:
Sunday after Sunday school we had to go to the ER becauses Jakes hand was swelling ALOT and the benedryl wasnt working -
He was given steroids and penacillin (msp?) and its still swollen this morning, but its gone down some and quit growing.
We started working on the light in the half bath, but there were FOUR holes behind the existing fixture, from them trying to find the electrical box, so we had to do some patching, but I hope to get that new fixture up this week!
I wanted to start studying for the PE this weekend, but that didnt happen, I got an email with the pre course work (25 hours of work before a five day class), not really looking forward to that!

Yesterday I ran at the gym, I had started the C25K program in March... and have done a few of the workouts sporatically, I did one day of week two then started on week three and yesterday, now a few months later, finished week 4, I am not doing these according to schedule to say the least. I will probably do a few more times at week 4 before progressing on. Last time I did week 4, the last 5 minute run I had to start walking after 3 minutes, well yesterday I ran every time I needed to!!!! I know it doesnt sound like much, but especially since I havent been keeping regular with it AND I forgot my ear buds at home, so I did this WITHOUT any music to distract myself!!!
The session was:
5 min warm up walk
3 min run
1 1/2 min walk
5 min run
2 1/2 min walk
3 min run
1 1/2 min walk
5 min run
5 min cool down walk
Ran at 6mph and walked at 4, so I covered 2.56 miles in 31 minutes, pretty happy with that!
Ate ALOT of veggies and fruit yesterday... and was down a little on the scale this morning, YAY!
Today is my coworkers birthday so we are going out to eat for lunch to celebrate, I am going to be good, even though this is a yummy cajun place! AND I workout with Kat tonight, so I dont want to eat stupid all day before working out hard!
Is it the weekend yet? :)

This weekend was pretty uneventful, I mostly slept... I have a cold or something and just cant shake it and since work is so busy, I am just sleeping alot when I am not at work.
Saturday Jake and I went to a good friend of mines to help her assemble two new bed frames she just bought, and he did most of the work while she and I caught up... which was nice. I need to make more time to stay up to speed with my friends, and I havent been doing a good job at that. Then Jake and I went to Black Walnut and I got my typical grilled chicken salad and he ordered this fun sounding steak salad, I am always too chicken to try new fun things... well I tried his salad, it was amazing! It had nuts, slices of apple, and STEAK, the dressing was creamy and delicious, but I just had a little... I am a HUGE fan of dressing on the side and dipping your fork in the dressing before grabbing greens, this was a tip from Weight Watchers a few years ago and I have done it ever since, except for a few occasions at Chuys, I mean, I DREAM of that creamy!!!! haha
Sunday we went to Newleyweds Sunday School class and I still wasnt feeling well, so then we left before the service and I spent the day on the couch watching season 4 of Greys Anatomy... poor sweet hubby... he is a good sport!
Yesterday was Monday meeting day and I stayed pretty busy at work, but luckily I had a massage to look forward to at the end of the day. It was phenominal, its been about 3 or more months since my last one and I really do need one a month at least... I had way too many knots that had to be worked out of my shoulders and neck! It was a mix of acupressure and deep tissue, and I loved it so much that afterwards I bought a 4 pack of massages. Hey, it was $150, thats a good deal! And I felt so relaxed!!! I went in with a bad tension headache and he got rid of it... its back this morning, I need one of those guys here at work! haha

I went to the gym Tuesday, Kat's class was killer as always... I am STILL sore!!! I went yesterday too and biked 14 miles in 40 minutes! I found a 13 week training guide for a triathalon online and a 16 week one. I think I am going to try the 13 week one. Its a bit more agressive, but the 16 week one starts off too slow for someone who has been working out on a regular basis.
Each week gets harder and they all incorporate each leg of the triathalon, so getting in swim time will be hard during the week.
Here is the schedule:
Last night Jake and I finally got to have the celebratory dinner at Peli Peli for my promotion! It was yummy... I had a South African mojito... it had something weird in it and I wish I had gotten the usual glass of wine, but it was on happy hour special and the wine wasnt, so I figured I would try it. My calories were still under 2000 for yesterday even with eating out last night and drinking, I was really good all day to hit that. I know thats alot, but for eating out, I will take it!
Today is my Friday and then its the weekend. Another person quit today.... its really getting slim pickings. We will see what happens over the next month or two.
